The Communication Gym
The Intent Gym
The remedy for one dimension, in one place. What you want the moment to do. Everything on this page is what is worked on and why. The order, the dose, and the measurement open once a Diagnosis has named which of these is actually yours.
What is worked on
Intent is the aim. Before a word is chosen, something has already decided what this moment is supposed to achieve, and most of the time nobody has decided it on purpose.
-
Aim
What this specific moment is for. You enter with a subject rather than an outcome. The talk is about the project. It is not for anything.
-
The ask
The thing you actually want, said plainly. The reason arrives first and the request last, by which point the room has already decided. Or the request never arrives at all and you leave hoping it was implied.
-
Deciding
Choosing before you speak rather than while you speak. You start the sentence to find out what you think. The first half is a search and the second half is an apology for the first half.
-
Refusal
Being able to want the moment to end in a no. A no is a legitimate intent and it is the one most people cannot hold. Agreement becomes the default aim, and the cost arrives later.
-
Retrieval
Reaching what you know at the moment you need it. The knowledge is there and nothing comes. Almost always this is aim rather than memory: with nothing to aim at, there is no cue to retrieve against.
Each of these is opened out further on the Intent page.
What it is made of
Drills
Run alone, between sessions.
Named techniques aimed at one sub-dimension. Measured in minutes actually spent and separate days returned to, both, because a habit is a days number and not an hours number. The open library is here and always will be.
Exercises
Prepared work with an output, done once.
They happen in a session, with people present. At the end something exists that did not before. An exercise is not measured, it is done or it is not.
Sessions
The live hour.
Where the work is put under other people and a clock. Attendance is the record, because a heartbeat cannot measure a room. Open and free on Sunday at Studio, and private inside the Atelier.
The roadmap
What order, and what dose.
The part that is not published. Which sub-dimension first, how long each runs, what opens next, and what tells you it is finished. It is written against your result rather than against the dimension, which is why it cannot sit on a public page.
What is open, and what is not
The understanding is open. Every sub-dimension above, every drill in the library, how the five steps run, and what each piece of the work is for, are readable by anybody without an account and will stay that way. There is nothing to buy on this page.
What is not open is the sequence. The order, the dose, what opens after what, and the measurement against your own result. That is not held back to create a wall. It is held back because it is written against one person's diagnosis, and a sequence aimed at the wrong sub-dimension inside the right dimension is worse than no sequence, since it fails invisibly.
It opens after a Diagnosis, and it is run either on your own time or with the hours attached. Which of the two suits you is a conversation rather than a selection.
Which of these is yours is not something a page can tell you. Your own answers take ten minutes.
