What you need

A partner making statements that could be read two ways.

The steps

  1. Listen to what was said.
  2. Write down what you have assumed they meant.
  3. Identify which part of that is actually in evidence.
  4. Ask about the part that is not.
  5. Listen to the answer.
  6. Rebuild the response on what you now know.

You know it worked when

You can separate what they said from what you supplied.
