A worked example
During Monday's client call, when the client questioned the timeline, you defended the estimate immediately. The client became more resistant. That cost us the chance to understand their actual concern.
What usually goes wrong
A vague situation, such as you always do this. It converts a correctable event into a character judgement and the conversation stops being about the event.
Used in
Where this shape does its work in a real situation.
A framework tells you what shape the answer takes. It cannot tell you whether shape is what you are short of, and for most people it is not. Which one is yours, and whether a framework is the right instrument at all, is what a Discovery Call is for.
