The drills

Feedback

Behaviour and impact

Give feedback about a behaviour and its consequence, not a character.

The gapFeedback that describes a person rather than a thing they did.

Message · Skill gap · 15 minutes · on your own

When to use it

Any correction that matters.

The steps

  1. Identify the behaviour.
  2. Describe it neutrally.
  3. Explain its observable impact.
  4. State the alternative you want.
  5. Let them respond.
  6. Clarify if it is needed.
  7. Use the shape: when you answered before I finished the question, the response addressed only part of what I was asking. I would like you to take a moment before responding.

You know it worked when

The feedback is actionable and is not an attack.

What else it works, and why

Intent
You have to communicate why the behaviour matters.
Connection
The whole exchange is about one person's effect on another.

Which drill is yours, in what order and at what dose, is not something a page can tell you. That is what a Discovery Call is for.
