  1. Take a complex issue.
  2. Identify the situation, the key issue, the impact, the recommendation and the decision required.
  3. Reduce the whole thing to thirty seconds.
  4. Deliver the summary.
  5. Ask what they understood.
  6. Identify what they actually needed.
  7. Refine it.
