When to use it

At the end of a piece of work, against the gap it began with.

What you need

A realistic consequential communication, and somebody observing in silence.

The steps

  1. Choose a realistic consequential communication.
  2. Define the intended outcome.
  3. Define measurable success criteria.
  4. Take normal preparation time.
  5. Remove every coaching prompt.
  6. Run the complete interaction.
  7. Introduce realistic uncertainty or pressure.
  8. Observe intent, message, delivery, presence and connection.
  9. Evaluate the result.
  10. Compare the performance against the gap originally diagnosed.
  11. Decide: resolved, reduced, transferred, or a new gap revealed.

You know it worked when

You can say which of the four happened, on evidence.

Why all five, and not one

Intent
The objective has to survive everything else that is happening.
Message
What is said has to keep its structure while the rest moves.
Delivery
How it is expressed has to hold under the same conditions.
Presence
The state it is expressed from has to stay steady.
Connection
It still has to reach the person in front of you.

Where it goes next

If a new gap appears, that is the next recalibration cycle rather than a failure.

Which drill is yours, in what order and at what dose, is not something a page can tell you. That is what a Discovery Call is for.
