The drills

Mastery and generalisation

Mastery under pressure

Find out whether it is still available when it is needed most.

The gapCapability that is present in controlled practice and absent in the room.

All five, coordinated · Psychological gap · 30 minutes · needs a partner

When to use it

Last, once everything else is steady.

What you need

A partner able to add pressure of several kinds.

The steps

  1. Perform normally.
  2. Add time pressure.
  3. Add scrutiny.
  4. Add interruption.
  5. Add disagreement.
  6. Add uncertainty.
  7. Observe whether the target behaviour is intact.
  8. Identify the threshold at which it fails.
  9. Recalibrate.
  10. Retest.

You know it worked when

The behaviour holds under realistic pressure, not only in practice.

Why all five, and not one

Intent
The objective has to survive everything else that is happening.
Message
What is said has to keep its structure while the rest moves.
Delivery
How it is expressed has to hold under the same conditions.
Presence
The state it is expressed from has to stay steady.
Connection
It still has to reach the person in front of you.

Which drill is yours, in what order and at what dose, is not something a page can tell you. That is what a Discovery Call is for.
