Observation and recalibration
Reflection
Turn an experience into a next experiment.
The gapEvents that are survived rather than learned from.
When to use it
Immediately afterwards.
The steps
- Write down what happened.
- Answer: what did I intend?
- Answer: what did I actually do?
- Answer: what happened?
- Answer: how did they respond?
- Identify where it weakened.
- Name the likely dimension: intent, message, delivery, presence or connection.
- Choose one adjustment.
- Plan where you will test it next.
You know it worked when
The reflection ends in a concrete next behavioural experiment.
What else it works, and why
- Intent
- It compares what you intended with what happened.
- Message
- It examines whether the meaning was communicated.
- Delivery
- It examines how it was transmitted.
- Presence
- It examines the state you were in.
- Connection
- It examines how the other person responded.
In the daily practice
It turns an ordinary day of communication into something you learn from.
Which drill is yours, in what order and at what dose, is not something a page can tell you. That is what a Discovery Call is for.
