Work on my communication

The drills

Observation and recalibration

Self diagnosis

Find the gap underneath the symptom.

The gapTreating where it showed rather than where it lives.

Diagnostic · Knowledge gap · 15 minutes · on your own

When to use it

Whenever you catch yourself saying you are bad at communication.

The steps

  1. Identify the visible problem.
  2. Ask: what exactly happened?
  3. Identify the observable behaviour.
  4. Trace backwards through intent, message, delivery, presence and connection.
  5. Identify the possible causes.
  6. Select the most likely one.
  7. Choose a drill that targets it.
  8. Test the correction.
  9. Reassess.

You know it worked when

You move from I am bad at communication to my message structure breaks down when I answer unexpected questions.

What else it works, and why

Intent
The break may be in what the communication was for.
Message
It may be in what was said or how it was built.
Delivery
It may be in how it was expressed.
Presence
It may be in the state it was expressed from.
Connection
It may be in whether it reached them at all.

Which drill is yours, in what order and at what dose, is not something a page can tell you. That is what a Discovery Call is for.
