Why that order
Decode is the step that matters: the words are rarely the question. Answering the words and not the concern is how a good candidate loses a room.
A worked example
Why should we hire you when you have no direct management experience?

- The concern is management readiness.

- Relevant leadership experience, evidence, transfer.
- Answer
- I have not held the title, but I have led an eight person technical team, run one to one operations and coordinated stakeholder issues. The next step for me is formalising that responsibility.

Practise it
Knowing the shape is about ten minutes of work. Running it while somebody senior is looking at you is a different thing, and that is what these are for.

A framework tells you what shape the answer takes. It cannot tell you whether shape is what you are short of, and for most people it is not. Which one is yours, and whether a framework is the right instrument at all, is what a Discovery Call is for.
