The shape

  1. Responsibility
  2. Facts
  3. Impact
  4. Ownership
  5. Corrective action

A worked example

You owned the client update. It was not sent. The client did not receive the revised timeline. I need you to own that communication failure. Let us agree the process that stops it happening again.

What usually goes wrong

Stopping at ownership. Without the corrective action it is a conversation whose only output is somebody feeling bad.

Mostly serves Connection, and reaches into Intent and Presence.

A framework tells you what shape the answer takes. It cannot tell you whether shape is what you are short of, and for most people it is not. Which one is yours, and whether a framework is the right instrument at all, is what a Discovery Call is for.
