Adaptability
Audience, context, message
Say the same true thing differently depending on who needs it.
The shape
- Audience
- Context
- Message adaptation
Why that order
The reality does not change. What changes is which part of it this person needs in order to act.
A worked example
The project is delayed because the testing environment is unstable.
- To an engineer
- The environment is failing intermittently during integration tests.
- To a manager
- Testing is unstable, which puts Friday's release at risk.
- To the client
- We need additional validation before we can confidently commit to the release date.
What usually goes wrong
Changing the substance rather than the expression. Three audiences hearing three different realities is not adaptation.

Practise it
Knowing the shape is about ten minutes of work. Running it while somebody senior is looking at you is a different thing, and that is what these are for.
Mostly serves Intent, and reaches into Message and Connection.
A framework tells you what shape the answer takes. It cannot tell you whether shape is what you are short of, and for most people it is not. Which one is yours, and whether a framework is the right instrument at all, is what a Discovery Call is for.
